  • Winemaker Notes Jean-Paul Versino at Bois de Boursan is one of the few growers who stick to absolutely traditional methods and his wines stand out for their wonderfully classical and typical Chateauneuf aromas. This is Chateauneuf as it used to be, always, not the overly-produced, modern, sweet and easy style. This white is a treasure of old school finesse and terroir purity! Quite different from the many modern white Châteauneuf-du-Papes (or single varietal wines), it achieves this as a result of having never veered away from traditional methods.
  • Tasting Notes It's a classic blend of both grape varieties and soils. The winemaking is simple, with a light touch, non-interventionist, made and aged in enamel tank for the fruit to express itself clearly. Great freshness and finesse.

  • Vineyard 27 parcels of very old vines over 18 hectares in all sectors of the appellation. Trees border many of the parcels which helps to cool the vines a little it and protect a bit from the Mistral; the different sectors lend complexity and are usually harvested at different times to take advantage of optimal ripeness. Most vineyards are at around 100m altitude and gently slope south, south-east or south-west; all vines are bush trained and worked organically and meticulously. The vines are 30 to 50 year old vines.
  • Vinification Whole bunches were very slowly pressed and the juice allowed to settle before being fermented 100% in enamel tank for 4 weeks using only wild yeasts, with malo blocked. The wine is matured 6 months in tank. The wine is bottled very lightly filtered (with regret but necessary in order to ensure clarity and hygiene – there may still be a small deposit).
