Covela Rosé

Dating from the 1500s, the ruins of the old, stone Casa de Covela, today composed of the facade of the original Renaissance manor house and the more recent chapel of St. Quiteria, bear witness to the centuries-old agricultural and cultural importance of the estate.

    Touriga Nacional
  • Winemaker Notes 100% Touriga Nacional, Portugal’s most emblematic red grape. Made by the classical rosé method, this wine is known for its elegant pairing of palid hue and balanced structure. A dry, gastronomic rosé.
  • Tasting Notes Color: Pale, rose-petal pink
Nose: Fresh and light, notes of strawberry and a touch of citrus.
Palate: Dry with vibrant, yet fine acidity. A rosé with structure and medium to long finish, marked by a touch of spice and blueberries.

Enjoy at a temperature between 8°C and 10°C. Ideal for outdoor meals and other “al fresco” moments, by the sea, by the pool, on the terrace, in
the garden, but always in good company. A gastronomic rosé which lends itself very well to all sorts of summer fare and also Asian cuisine.

  • Vineyard At Quinta de Covela we practice organic farming on the granitic soils that form a natural, South-facing amphitheater of low-lying terraces overlooking the right bank of the Douro river. Covela lies in the southeastern-most corner of the Vinho Verde demarcated region, on the borderline between the continental climate of inland Portugal and
the maritime influences of the Atlantic coast to the West.
  • Vinification Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel vats and fining with bentonite when necessary. No use of enzymes. Aged on fine lees until mid-March. Cold stabilization. Light filtration.
  • Viticulture Manual harvesting. Harvest organized by vineyard plots to ensure harvesting at the right time. Transport in small boxes to avoid crushing.
