  • Tasting Notes This is a lovely fresh but medium-bodied example from Domaine Thibert, one of Burgundy's top producers. It is a real salmon pink colour with fairly subtle aromas of red fruits and a Champagne-like hint of biscuit and brioche. It has a persistent mousse and on the palate fruits abound - redcurrant, pomegranate, red cherries, strawberries - with rosewater and vanilla cream. The fruits balance well with the fresh acidity and the hint of tannin and you are left with a long-lasting creamy, rich, red fruit finish. This really is a wine with attitude!

    Drink on its own, with canapés, smoked salmon, caviar, shellfish including lobster, fish, chicken, turkey and desserts especially fruit based desserts such as sorbet.
  • Vineyard The grapes from which the vins de base for Crémant de Bourgogne are made come from a wide variety of soils in vineyard districts throughout Bourgogne.
    They range from the chalky subsoil of the Joigny district in the north to the granites of southern Bourgogne, via the limestones and marls of the Côtes where most of the wines of this appellation are grown.
