  • Winemaker Notes The place known as Coudot, near to Cussac Fort Médoc, has been known for its numerous Crus Artisans for nearly two centuries. The first Féret in 1850 was run by Médoc winegrowing families, and over time, the estates experienced differing fortunes. Today, just one Cru Artisan in Coudot remains: Château de Coudot. This ancient Médoc tradition was revived thanks to the Blanchard family, three generations ago. Whether for growing the vines or making the wine, respect for the environment is a priority for the Blanchards, a Médoc family born and bred who love and respect their region.
  • Tasting Notes A wine of black berried fruit, predominantly black currant. The palate is round and velvety with very fine length. Ripe, well-integrated tannins. Fine balance, with fruit forward. This wine makes an ideal accompaniment for grilled meat, stews, mushrooms, fish grilled or cooked in red wine, mild cheese and red fruit desserts.

  • Vineyard The terroir of Cussac Fort-Médoc is made up mainly of gravely soils deposited by the Garonne. The vines are tended using the traditional Médoc methods: two fruit canes with three buds each are retained at pruning; suckering and leaf culling are carried out, and green harvesting if necessary.The vines are tended with meticulous care to obtain grapes of the best possible quality.
  • Vinification Machine harvesting. Total maceration 24-30 days. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels, with regular topping up and racking.
