  • Winemaker Notes Le Versant was born a few years ago with the idea of creating modern wines with aromatic profiles to please the broadest audience and suit every type of consumption. To create these profiles, the winegrowers of Les Vignobles Foncalieu pooled all their know-how and experience to set up an ambitious project based on strict plot selection on hillsides in some of our lesser-known geographical areas. The choice of these sunny hillsides was made intentionally to get specific ripeness levels and create aromatic, elegant varietal wines.
  • Tasting Notes Bright color with green tints. Intense apricot, peche de vigne, and rose. Slight hints of spice (ginger) and mints. Strong and generous on the palate developing towards a notably smooth and fruity finish.
  • Vineyard The Versant Viognier vines are situated on sunny, north-facing slopes in the Aude department. The soil, composed of chalky "terres blanches", allows to protect the acidity of grapes and then to obtain well balanced wines. Control of yields via optimal management of nutrition and de-budding.
  • Vinification Pneumatic pressing. Cold static clarification on the lees. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel, temperature controlled vats. Aged 4 months in stainless steel vats. Batonnage on the lees to accentuate the plumpness on the palate.
  • Shelf Talkers
