WINEMAKER NOTES

Château Haut Gléon produces wines of character, elegant and refined with a broad palette of flavors, presented in a distinctive, unique bottle based on a historical model found in the château’s store rooms. This wine tells the story of a Visigoth couple. They built a chapel as a sign of their mutual love. They lived at Gléon in the 6th century and were in love. It is in honor of this couple, called Diusvirus and Wilzende, that we wanted to create this special cuvée.

TASTING NOTES

Deep carmine red appearance. Powerful and complex bouquet combining black fruit, camphor notes and roasted aromas. Characterized by concentration on the palate with a long, fresh finish.

PAIRING SUGGESTIONS

PRESS

“A solid step up over the Chateau release, the 2014 Corbieres Notre Dame includes more Grenache and is made from Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan. Aged in a combination of foudre and barrel, it has terrific concentration and full-bodied richness as well as lots of black raspberry, crushed flowers, violets, and spice-like aromas and flavors. Polished, with building tannin, solid mid-palate depth and no shortage of length on the finish, this could really end up being a special wine and check in near the top of the vintage. It will have 10-15 years of longevity.” – (90-93) points, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate
