Montfaucon is located opposite to Chateauneuf-du-Pape, just across the Rhone River. Our vineyards are spread out between Montfaucon and the two neighboring towns, Roquemaure and St Genies de Comolas. The original 18 hectares (1995) of vineyards have grown to 45 hectares by planting new vineyards and by buying old ones. Our vines are up to 90 years old with an average age of 40 years. All the vineyards are farmed at low yields (between 25 to 42 hl/ha).

  • Composition:
    100% Viognier
  • Winemaker Notes This wine is made of 100% Viognier grapes that have been picked by hand. Our Viognier combines fruit and freshness with typical aromas of this traditional Rhone Valley variety (apricot, citrus fruits, and floral notes).
  • Tasting Notes A combination of freshness and fruitiness; notes of citrus fruits like grapefruit and orange peel, and also exotic fruit like mango and some floral notes. The mouth is pleasantly rich, making this wine an excellent choice as an aperitif and a wonderful accompaniment to grilled fish and exotic salads.
  • Vinification Picked by hand in 15 kg cases, the grapes are whole-cluster pressed and fermented in concrete tanks under temperature control between 14 and 16 degrees C to keep maximum fruit expression. Only fifteen percent of the wine is fermented and aged in oak barrels to add some roundness and depth.
