WINEMAKER NOTES
The Seguinot family’s roots can be traced as far back as 1590 in the Chablis district, the northernmost area of the Burgundy region. At Domaine Seguinot Bordet, they provide the utmost care their densely planted vines, all the while respecting nature’s harmony and the organic balance of the seasons. They make their own selection of vine plants when they need to be replanted but the oldest are already as old as their ancestors. The rich soils from the Kimmerridgian origin gives our wines a specific iodine character, genuine and inimitable typicity.
TASTING NOTES
Bright golden color, with yellow-greenish highlights. A fresh and expressive nose of white flowers and a touch of citrus. This wine is beautiful, generous, and elegant on the palate, medium to full bodied. Notes of honeyed peaches, brioche, and meyer lemon. A lingering mineral finish shows its serious character.
VINIFICATION
The current winemaker, young Jean-Francois Bordet, has taken the quality level to new heights. By employing a revolutionary new cylindrical-shaped horizontal fermentatino tank, the grape juice makes more complete contact with the skins and lees to provide extra body, fruit, and general flavor intensity. All the wines boast riveting fruit and bracing, yet well-integrated acidity levels – incontestable hallmarks of genuine Chablis wine.
