WINEMAKER NOTES
Domaine Haut Gléon produces wines of character, elegant and refined with a broad palette of flavors, presented in a distinctive, unique bottle based on a historical model found in the château’s store rooms.
TASTING NOTES
A pale pink appearance with peach skin reflection. Intensely fruity bouquet dominated by small red berry aromas (currant, raspberry). Flavorful on the palate with floral notes, offering wonderful roundness in the attack and remarkable freshness in the finish.
PAIRING SUGGESTIONS
Ideal as an aperitif, with tapas, gazpachos, summer salad, grilled dishes and fresher cheeses. Serve 10°C. Cellaring potential : 2 years.
VINEYARD
The Grenache is planted on trias colluvial deposits. The Cabernets and Merlots are on terraces of Quaternary pebbles. For the rosé wines, preference is given to plots with good water reserves.
VITICULTURE
The average density is 4,000 vines per hectare. The vines are trained on wires with guyot pruning. Low yields. Slow, regular ripening thanks to the microclimate. Harvested when the grapes reach just the right ripeness level to keep their fresher qualities.
VINIFICATION
Open basket press. Settling of the must in cold conditions. Alcoholic fermentation under temperature control. Vinification in stainless-steel vats. Matures for 4 months in stainless-steel vats.
