Domaine Mas Thérèse is implanted at the very heart of the Bandol regional appellation, in the small village of Sainte Anne du Castellet to be precise. This estate was founded in 1908 by Thérèse Gantelme. Since then, her descendants have been tending to the vineyards from one generation to the next for more than a century in her memory.
Very pale smooth pink colour. Expressive nose, reminiscent of yellow flesh fruits and citrus fruit. The mouthfeel is round and generous, with flavors of cherries and exotic fruits. Very elegant wine, thanks to a delicate balance between minerality, liveliness and warmth.
The family-owned estate covers 25 hectares (62 acres), 13 of which boast the Bandol appellation (32 acres). They are carefully tended to, avoiding the use of any chemical weed killers, following the secular tradition of manual labor: tilling with ploughs, manual hoeing, hand-picking of the grapes.
The grapes are entirely hand-picked early in the morning. This is followed by direct pressing before fermentation of the free run juice at cold temperature.
“Spicy Mourvèdre gives this wine concentration while not losing sight of the fresh red-currant fruitiness. The youthful texture suggests the wine could age beyond the summer. Drink from late 2019.” – 90 points, Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast
