Cave Poulet et Fils
Poulet & Fils
When I took over the family estate in 2004, I obviously inherited my ancestors’ land : this clay-limestone soil which was worked by so many generations and which first fed my ancestors and then provided them a living by the villages of Pontaix, Montlaur-en-Diois and Vercheny. This stony land became a vineyard thanks to the relentless labour of my grandfathers and my father Alain.
My father, who became a winegrower when he was 16, passed me on the vines of Muscat blanc à petits grains and Clairette that he had planted and worked for 50 years. I contributed with the integration of the iconic grapes of Châtillon-en-Diois (Gamay, Chardonnay, Aligoté) increasing the overall estate surface up to 23 hectares.
From the grapes to the bottle
Our winery is situated along the steep hills of the Drôme valley. Our vines are planted in small plots down the Vercors mountains. They benefit from an exceptional climate ranging from the harshness of winters to Mediterranean summers.
Our family estate spreads on the villages of Pontaix, Montlaur-en-Diois, Vercheny and Châtillon-en-Diois.
White and red Muscat à petits grains, white Clairette, Chardonnay, Aligoté and Gamay benefit from these amazing terroirs. We work our vines respectfully of the biodiversity and soil life according to our HEV (High Environmental Value) certification, which allows our clay-limestone soils to develop to the full.
Once fully ripe our different grapes will be cautiously harvested and carefully vinified to offer you high quality Clairette de Die, Crémant de Die and Châtillon-en-Diois.
